“For us to be put on a stage with the men I think is also exciting, and for viewers, it’s just a little bit something different,” she said. Korda has been one of the most decorated players on the LPGA Tour. While other players including male golfers also reacted to the news. American professional golfer Billy Horschel also gave his views about the same and said“I think it’s something that needed to be done for quite a while…It’s going to benefit the PGA Tour…I think it’s going to benefit the LPGA Tour even more in terms of getting more exposure.”

More players, including Juli Inkster, gave their reactions to the new event. “It was one of my favorite tournaments,” she said. “It was good for the men to see the women play, and how well they can play.” Korda too has been actively talking about how women deserve the same amount of fame and opportunities as men when it comes to golf. And luckily the LPGA tour along with the PGA Tour have allied to feature golfers of both genders on the same field, benefitting the interest of all players.

Many are taking this as a step from the PGA Tour to stay ahead in competition with the LIV Golf league. The Saudi-backed league was expected to launch a similar event soon. Moreover, players were being asked about their opinions about participating in the reported LIV mixed event long before the QBE Shootout was announced. But the LPGA Tour has already made its move and this could be helpful for the tour to retain its players based on this event.
