Tiger Woods berated his son, Charlie, as the father-son duo practiced swinging and teeing off during the PNC Championship at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. It was a friendly banter between the two, a video clip of which was posted by TWLEGION on its X handle. In the video, it was seen that Woods Jr. swung and hit the bat, and the golfer didn’t quite like it despite sporting a smile. “We’re ending on that right there; that was nasty! f****** nasty,” said Woods. He doubled down on the nasty remarks, but all as light-hearted banter. It was sort of Charlie forcing his father to show his “nasty” side on the course with his words, although it was sheer enjoyment. The PNC Championship’s Pro-AM tournament teed off at Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in South Orlando on Thursday, with 20 professional golfers and a family member accompanying them. Tiger Woods and his son Charlie, who are making their fourth appearance this year, are the star attractions, amongst others.

Charlie Woods played a pivotal role in his school’s final victory at the Florida High School Athletic Association Class A state championship. The Benjamin School Buccaneers notched a one-point victory at the State Championship after coming from behind.

Woods Jr. sniffed the title first in 2020 at the Links Tour Jonathan’s Landing at Old Trail in the South Florida PGA Juniors age group of 9–11. But Tiger Woods, after watching his son dominate the Hurricane Tour, promptly shifted his son to the Junior South Florida PGA Tour, where the competition is tougher. So, 2021 went without any titles for the young Woods on the Challenge Tour. Next year, Woods failed to break into the top 20 from his four outings. Last year, the 14-year-old teed off in eight events on the Medalist Tour.

Out of his eight appearances, the top-10 finish came in three with his best performance—a tied 5th place finish—coming in at the SFPGA Tour Championship last month. Charlie Woods’s scoring average of 76 puts him in 60th place on the season-long leaderboard. But that’s a decent performance considering Woods Jr. is still on the younger edge of the age group he is participating in.

Woods Jr., however, carded his best round at the regional qualifier for the Notah Begay Hill Junior National Championship. With Tiger Woods on the bag, the teenager shot 8-under, 64 at the Mission Inn Resort in Orlando. Charlie Woods fluttered off nine birdies in the final round to qualify for the national championship.

At the National Championship, however, the 14-year-old failed to clinch the title. Again, with the 15-time Major Champion caddying for him, Charlie Woods carded a bogey-free final round to pose 2-over 215. The teenager settled for a tied 17th position in the 14–18 age group.
<h2>PNC Championship performance</h2>
The world first got to witness Charlie Woods in action at the 2002 PNC Championship. The family outgoing has become a regular for the father-son duo. In their first outing, Team Woods finished in eighth place on the leaderboard. But in the 2020 outing, Charlie Woods got the limelight more because of his elite-level trash-talking with family friend Justin Thomas than this on-course performance.

That soon changed the next year, as the young Woods and Tiger Woods made 11 birdies to give the winning team, Team Daly, a hot chase until the final round. Charlie Woods had to settle for a runner-up finish. Next year as well, the Woods team finished in the 11th spot.

2023 was when the world got to admire Woods’s game as well as his uncanny mannerisms and similarities with his father. A buffed-up Woods Jr. drove a 300-yard drive at the Ritz Carlton Golf Course. If that were not enough, the 14-year-old also chipped a slow putt that drew a smile on his father’s face. Although the duo once again failed to net a victory, Charlie Woods showed promise.

Charlie Wood has not signed any Name, Image, or Likeness deals yet. But the 14-year-old is heavily linked with Greyson Clothiers. Woods has a sizable portion of his investments put into real estate. One of the most expensive of those investments is his house on Jupiter Island in Florida. In 2006, he spent a whopping $40 million on the property. But that wasn’t the end of it at all! Tiger’s father, Earl, was his inspiration to play the sport and was also the one who taught him how to play the game. His first official coach, on the other hand, was Rudy Duran, who began training him at the age of four and continued to do so for six years.

Woods is the only child of Earl and Kultida. But his father had three other children before he was born. Earl Jr. was Woods’ eldest half-sibling and was born in 1955. He is 20 years older than Tiger. Woods met Rachael Uchitel in 2008. A year later, the two began seeing each other. Allegedly, Uchitel and Woods were seeing each other before his split with his wife, Elin.

Eight years later, in 2017, the golf legend was arrested in Florida for DUI. The police had found him passed out behind the wheel of his Mercedes-Benz. There seemed to have been a minor accident before the cops found him.

In February 2021, Woods was yet again involved in a car accident. Due to a speed crash, his car had flown off the road. He was the only party involved in the accident. The golf pro suffered multiple injuries to his right leg and ankle and sustained injuries to his back. He went through multiple surgeries for his leg injuries and has not yet fully recovered from them. Yet the PGA Tour star found the resolve to <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/golf-news-augusta-national-drops-huge-hint-at-tiger-woods-participation-at-2022-masters/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">compete in major championships in 2022.</a>

Woods's health struggles continued as he <a href="https://www.essentiallysports.com/golf-news-the-masters-tournament-agony-at-augusta-tiger-woods-breaks-millions-of-hearts-with-gut-wrenching-announcement-at-the-masters/?utm_source=website%2F&amp;utm_medium=dive_deeper&amp;utm_campaign=internal_links" target="_blank" rel="noopener">withdrew from the Masters in April 2023</a> due to a re-aggravation of his plantar fasciitis. After nearly an eight-month-long hiatus, the 82-time PGA Tour winner made a comeback at the Hero World Challenge in December 2023.
<h2 style="text-align: center"><strong>The Tiger Woods Foundation, Charity Work, and Philanthropy</strong></h2>
Tiger and his father, Earl, started the TGR Foundation back in 1996. It was first set out with the goal of helping children play the sport. But 27 years later, the foundation now aims to educate children on all fronts. They offer college and career programs to students and have, to date, helped turn around more than 2 million students’ lives. They further have one of the highest graduation rates among scholarship programs in the country, at 98%.

The Woods Foundation additionally hosts charity events and sponsors golf events on the PGA Tour to raise money for various charitable ventures. The most popular tournaments among them are the Genesis Invitational and the Hero World Challenge.
