As January is fast approaching, so are the developments on Tiger Woods‘ new Tour TGL. In the last couple of days, lots of changes have taken place and fans are getting surprises one after another.

While Jon Rahm who was among the first players to join the new league is reportedly exited from the Tour, a new franchise player joined in the form of Justin Thomas yesterday. And today one of TGL’s teams announced all of their players.

The first team of TGL gets all four players

Yesterday, Justin Thomas became the first player to belong to a specific team franchise after joining Atlanta Drive. Falcons owner Arthur Blank is the sponsor of this team and Thomas will be playing for them. After that, today TGL announced who the four players are that will be playing for their Boston team.

Announcing for the first time the complete members of their new team, Boston Common Golf are Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott, and Tyrell Hatton. The team is sponsored by Fenway Sports Group, which has a total net worth of $8 billion.

The league released a video in which Keegan Bradley called Boston old school and full of tradition, yet always innovating and looking to the future. In the video, Bradley compares golf to the city of Boston and announces the new players. In the end, he says “All present and ready to rip it.”

And the golfers of the team are thrilled about this new development as well. McIlroy, who is half the creative force behind the TGL, said, “I’m thrilled to join Boston Common Golf and to be representing Boston and New England’s rich sports culture. TGL brings a unique dimension to the game, and I can’t wait to stand with Adam, Keegan, and Tyrrell as my teammates.” Meanwhile, his other teammates are stoked, too.

Hatton and Scott are ready to make Boston proud

Tyrell Hatton said, “This is an incredible opportunity to represent the spirit of excellence and winning that Fenway Sports Group embodies, and to play with some of the golfers I have admired throughout my career.” Australia’s Adam Scott chimed in by adding, “My first win on the PGA TOUR was in 2003 at the Deutsche Bank Championship in Massachusetts, which makes being part of the New England team especially meaningful.”

The league has also entered into agreements with the presenting sponsor, Sofi, and ESPN for television broadcasts, which will give them coverage in their first year. It looks like the fans will be enjoying a good game this winter season.
