After having an underwhelming Solheim Cup performance, Charley Hull is set to defend her title at the Ascendant LPGA Benefiting Volunteers of America. The 3 times LET winner is suffering from an unpleasant neck injury.

Despite the injury and her mental health struggles, the English golfer is back on the course to play. The golfer had taken a much-needed break after the patriotic battle, and this will be her first appearance.

Charley Hull confesses her injury is still painful

Ahead of the $1.8 million event, Charley Hull is back at the course. The diva showed an unamused performance at the Solheim Cup, Finta Cortesín. She was bearing her neck injury, which had been exacerbated during her flight to Spain. 

Hull was struggling at the Solheim Cup with her swing because of the stiff and painful neck. She won only one match on the Saturday fourball sessions with partner Leona Maguire against Nelly Korda and Ally Ewing. The singles match against Danielle Kang too ended in Team US’ favor.

As she prepares to defend her title, Hull highlighted her recovery from the injury and said, “I feel like the game is in good shape. I obviously sprained my neck when I was in Spain. It still hurts a little bit, but just taking it easy.”

The European was in a good mood as she was heading to compete on familiar ground. Hull has been consistent with her performance at Texas and coming in the top 10. She also shared her love for golf and how “Hard” it is for her to rest. But the Englishwoman assured that “I feel good.”

Charley Hull on dealing with ADHD

Earlier this year, Hull was diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). In addition to her injury, Hull has always been open about her mental health struggles. She shared the good and bad effects ADHD has on her game.

Hull exclaimed, “If my coach gives me a drill to do I can get it straight away. So I get things pretty quickly, and that is like kind of good things about ADHD.” But she also pointed out how the disorder had made her “restless.” Sometimes she has sleepless nights and on others she can sleep for a day straight, calling it “weird.”
