Tiger Woods is widely known for being humble with his fans as well as his fellow golfers. Fans love Woods for his down-to-earth attitude and honesty. But it is certainly not what Woods’ ex-caddie thinks about him. The golfer’s public image was highly shaken when Woods’ former caddie, Steve Williams, opened up about the golfer’s behavior toward him on the field.

Steve Williams describes Tiger Woods’ actions on the field.

Author and former caddie Steve Williams wrote a book called ‘Out of the Rough’ which had a lot of insight into how Tiger Woods has been different on the field. Williams pointed out that Woods behaved like a spoiled brat on the field and treated him like a “slave”. Pieces from the book were published that displayed the temperamental and immature sides of Woods.

Williams wrote in his book, “One thing that really pi–ed me off was how he would flippantly toss a club in the general direction of the bag, expecting me to go over and pick it up.” He added, “It was like I was his slave.”

Another thing that Williams mentioned is a rather strange habit of Woods that very few people might know about. He talked about Woods’ “habit of spitting at the hole if he missed a putt.”

How did Woods’ personal life affect Williams?

Williams also referred to an incident where he had nothing to do with what was happening and yet he was questioned and taunted. It was after Woods crashed his car on Thanksgiving in 2009, post-argument with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren. Williams mentioned that people called him a liar and asked him what he was doing with Woods.

The caddie said that he was dragged through everything that went wrong with the golf pro, but Woods’ people never helped him. Williams also wrote that other people in the golfer’s circle used to help Woods in his wrongful deeds. He said that if he had known Woods was cheating, he would have put his foot down. “I didn’t know because Tiger didn’t dare tell me.” He said.
