The famous pro golfer, Patrick Cantlay has remained at the center of rumors around LIV Golf. Many have suspected a possible defection on Cantlay’s part, time and again. However, Patrick Cantlay has denied rumors of such a defection on multiple occasions. Recently, when he presented his LIV Golf theory, he was faced with consequences. Two of his major sponsors pulled back after hearing what Cantlay had to say, leaving the professional “open” in the market of sponsors yet again.

The two sponsors that chose to pull away from Patrick Cantlay post his comments on his LIV Golf theory are Hugo Boss and Titleist. This was one of the effects of Patrick Cantlay’s LIV Golf theory highlighting how the breakaway league has improved the situation of the PGA Tour as a consequence of the increased competition.

Cantlay said, “It’s been a competition for top talent, like any other business. I think that it’s been interesting how much it’s changed golf…will be a massive benefit for the viewer.
