The egg salad and pimento cheese sandwiches cost just $1.5 each. The Masters Club, ham and cheese on rye, chicken salad on honey, and wheat all come at $3 each. Bottled water, lemonade, soda, diet, cola, sports drink, and freshly brewed coffee are flat $2 each. Chips, cookies, and candies are $1.5 each, a banana just $1.25, and the iconic Georgia peach ice cream sandwich just $2.5. Even edible is available for $0.5. Fans are amazed by this price list.

For context, PGL, the PGA Tour’s newest venture, has never priced its items this low. A 20-ounce water bottle or soda costs at least $5, a sports drink $8, and a beer $12. The alcoholic drinks reached as high as $20. At last year’s PGA Championship in Valhalla, hot dogs went for $8 each, cheeseburgers for $15 each, and beer for a starting price of $14.

Fans are really happy because Augusta, as always, seems to be operating in a world of its own.

Fans celebrate the Augusta National Women’s Amateur’s impressive and inclusive concession menu

“Y’all can have the Cheesecake Factory menu, I’ll take this any day of the week,” tweeted a fan, comparing the exorbitant prices at Cheesecake Factory. “Such a shame this isn’t normal at all, professional sporting events. I get it, but still,” tweeted another. There are several reasons for that. One is that Augusta National is a private club that maintains a certain level of exclusivity and hospitality, while other sports events strategize to maximize revenue.

“Prices-farming,” A gen-z quipped, amazed. “Not even exaggerating, I would have 30 Pimento Cheese sandwiches minimum,” one said. The list impressed and worried the fan, and they decided to capitalize on the chance. “Nothing over $3 on this menu in this economy is unheard of. Another reason I love the Masters,” shared a fan in his re-tweet. Indeed, such prices in this day and age of inflation are unheard of. But events like the Masters stretch longer than NBA or NHL events. That is why there is constant demand.

The fan reactions reflect the sentiment that comes around every year at Augusta National. Every year, fans in attendance share their favorite treats and rave about how the prices feel like a throwback to decades earlier. This is something that Augusta National is known for, carrying on tradition. And they certainly are doing it very well in the menu department as well. They are entirely intentional.

Former Augusta National Chairman Billy Pine said the club values fan experience. “We want the experience not only to be the best, but to be affordable. The cost of a pimento cheese sandwich is just as important as how high the second cut is going to be.”

Now with the Masters just a few days away, those who have purchased tickets can expect a similar menu at similar prices.
