The new fifteen-striped tiger logo of Sun Day Red is here to stay. We are not saying that Tiger Woods’s close ally is! The golfer’s new clothing brand, in collaboration with TaylorMade, has been the epicenter of criticism since its launch, be it for the logo, the prices, or the designs. Despite facing harsh criticism, Tiger Woods seems to remain stern about the fact that he has moved on from the famous TW logo! A logo that he launched during his Tiger Slam era in 2000.
On Sunday, Red President Brad Blankinship spilled some beans as to why the famous 15 stripes will be here for a long time. When asked whether the TW logo is bound to make a return amidst heavy criticism levied upon the present, Blankship reaffirmed that the ball is in the 48-year-old’s court. According to him, it is Woods’s preference to stick to the new SDR logo. Blankship’s exact words were, “That will be his decision. For now, he’s put out there that that’s in his past, and he’s ready to move forward. So, I would say time will tell, and it will be Tiger’s decision.”
The brand’s logo paints a story for the millions of golf and Woods fans! “At the heart of Sun Day Red’s ethos is a logo that tells a story. It’s a narrative of Tiger’s incredible achievements, a visual tribute to a career that has inspired millions. But the designs go further, embedding Easter eggs for the fans, including a 15-striped tiger emblem representing his 15 major wins,” said the press release for Sun Day Red. But why did the 82-time PGA Tour winner bid goodbye to the TW logo he used for over two decades with a rushed goodbye?

Well, the answer to this lies in the star’s breakup with Nike after 27 long years of collaboration. The golf’s longest partnership came to an amicable end earlier this year. The separation between the two giants resulted in his losing the rights to TW. However, Woods made sure not to take it as a setback. As per Woods, “I don’t want it back. I’ve moved on. This is a transition in my life. I’ve moved on to Sun Day Red, and we’re looking forward to building a brand that elicits excitement and is transformative.”
Even though Tiger Woods continues to remain positive about his new beginnings, he still wants to ruin his new logo. It is quite shocking, isn’t it? Well, not so much!

The crux of this rather complicated question remains in the story that lies behind Sun Day Red’s current logo. Considering how it is a narrative of his 15 major wins, an aspiring Woods intends to change the logo and add another stripe. This wish represents a hope that the golfer will win another major soon, probably this year since he intends to play in all the remaining ones. Despite suffering from the wrath of his health-related struggles, the GOAT remains hopeful of a 16th shot at a major win. Mr. T previously revealed, “If he wins a 16th major, they’ll add a stripe and change the SDR logo, which has 15 stripes for 15 majors.”
The PGA Tour pro received a special exemption to compete in the US Open this year since his exemption has run out. He expressed his gratitude for the same, but the move garnered a lot of criticism. Fans thought that the invite sent to the golfer was a waste since he does not have it anymore to win, but Woods is all in for proving everyone wrong! While it remains to be seen whether the logo will get updated to accommodate Woods’s dreams in the future or not, one thing is certain: it is here to stay.
