Everyone aspires to excel in their particular vocations. Every athlete hopes to see their name listed among the top achievements. But if you ask legends what is more surreal, surely for them the greatest glory would be to see their own blood achieve the same feat. And fortunately for Tiger Woods, that is something he currently seems to be on track to witness!

Charlie Woods, Tiger Woods’ adored son, is frequently mentioned in glowing terms. To improve the younger one’s abilities, the father-son duo often spent a lot of time on the course together. It’s quite evident that the 14-year-old strives to make his father proud with his skill and game, and this time. And with his latest achievement, he has in no way fallen short of doing that.

Even though Tiger Woods is not competing in events because of his health issues, that hasn’t kept him away from the course. Recently, the golf legend took to a golf course to cheer on his son. And despite Woods being present on the course, this time it was his son who stole the show with his incredible golfing prowess.

Woods Jr. recently participated in the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour in Florida. Charlie won the ‘Major Championship at Village Golf Course’ after a superb performance as his father and the rest of the golf world watched on.

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced his victory on Instagram. Dedicating a post to his victory, they congratulated him. “A huge congrats to Charlie for winning this weekend’s “Major Championship at Village Golf Course” in Royal Palm Beach, Florida by a total of 8 strokes in the Boys 14-15 Division,” they wrote in the caption.

With this outstanding victory of a total of 1-under par, Charlie demonstrated how he has inherited his father’s golf prowess. Perhaps the time when he beats his old man on the course is not too far away. Well, the 14-year-old will certainly be hoping for that; after all, it is one of his biggest wishes. Until then, Woods Jr. will perhaps have to settle for playing alongside his dad just like he’s done all these years, including at the prestigious PNC Championship.

At just 11 years old, Charlie began to dominate Florida youth golf championships, showcasing his golfing prowess. Soon after, he took to the Tour front, competing at the PNC Championship alongside his father and against other pro-parent-child duos. Since then, it’s turned into a sort of tradition for the pair. In December last year, the duo teed up to compete at the event for the third time.

Despite playing together for a while, the two have yet to succeed in winning the tournament and settled for an eighth-place finish in 2022. Similarly, with a score of 20 under par, the father-son pair placed seventh in 2020. Their best finish, however, came in 2021, when they placed second after 11 straight birdies.

Undoubtedly, all the practice as well as the competition of events like the PNC, coupled with his support at home, has helped evolve Charlie’s swing and made him the young golf prodigy that he is today. Perhaps he owes his latest win to all that too. Wouldn’t you agree? Let us know in the comments below.
