Within any sports community, each person has their favorite golfer. That is also true for golf enthusiasts. But John Daly commands a fan base much larger than many pros. Despite Long John not playing as well as he used to, his fans have stood by him every step of the way. The golf pro recently went viral yet again when he unexpectedly appeared in a golf event playing for a team.

The fans were overjoyed to see the golf star on the course having a fun time.

Fans react to John Daly enjoying life on the course

In a recent tweet, Daly can be seen driving the ball with his massive power. Soon after the shot, Daly can also be seen limping a little, and the golf star was certainly in discomfort. Daly participated in a West Florida Golf Tour event as part of a team, according to the tweet.

Daly’s team ended the event 15th out of 20 teams, but the 56-year-old certainly had a blast. The two-time major winner had a cigarette in his mouth the entire game. He also played music while on the course and further gulped down “a million sodas.”

The fans loved seeing Daly just be himself, and the golf world reacted by sending out their love.

Some fans also showed deep concern about the star’s leg.

They loved his Santa look and took no time to comment on it, with one suggesting, “Did he show up in a Santa suit? Should have.” And Another saying, “I’m telling my kids this is Santa Claus.”

Fans certainly want to see more of Daly on the course, and some even hope he jumps to the Saudi-backed league.

Where does Daly play next?

Long John’s next game isn’t some minor event. The golf great is confirmed to be playing at the PNC Championship on December 15. The 3-day event is in Orlando at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, and Daly is partnered with his son to defend the title.

The PNC is an event where players from the PGA Tour and the PGA Tour champions pair up with their parents or children to compete. Daly and his son, John Daly II went on to beat Tiger Woods and his son, Charlie, by two strokes last year to claim the championship belts and the $200,000 cash prize.
