Coming as a shock to the entire world, Turkey got hit by a gigantic earthquake yesterday, causing unimaginable damage. The number of lives lost is still being figured out while the world mourns the condition of the people. And giving her views about the circumstances, LPGA Tour legend Annika Sorenstam recently tweeted about the calamity.

Monday was definitely one of the most unfortunate days for the people of Turkey. With numerous people dying in their sleep, collapsing buildings were the last things anyone would have thought of. And it was all due to the unfathomable trembling earthquake.

The magnitude of the earthquake is reported to be as huge as 7.8. It is regarded as one of the most powerful earthquakes of the century in the region, injuring thousands of people, the quake has taken more than 1500 lives, as per ‘The Guardian’. It is being said that the natural calamity wiped off entire regions from the face of the earth. The current death toll is estimated to be more than 326 in government-controlled parts of Syria, 221 in rebel-held northern Syria, and 1,014 in Turkey.

“Terrible to read about the #earthquakeinturkey #sad #thoughts #nature”. The LPGA Tour GOAT has made several records on the field during her prime years and hence has millions of fans. And when she shared her views on Twitter, her followers revealed more details about the disaster. “Stunning there’s been over 120 bad aftershocks there”, a fan mentioned. While another individual compared it to the Ōsaka-Kōbe earthquake in Japan in 1995.

The images of the disaster on the news and TV are very disturbing and have left the fans in great trauma. Some sources suggest that the number of people lost due to the happening is way more than being shown in the media. A man was seen weeping as his 1.5-year-old grandson was stuck under the debris after his apartment collapsed. “Please help them, please. … They were on the 12th floor,” he said. But the chances of people surviving inside the fallen buildings were nearly null. People all around the world sincerely hope that the people of Turkey can get through the rough time they’re currently facing.
