Recently, the PGA Tour has made a big announcement. This has garnered a lot of attention from fans all around, especially on Twitter. The users present on the aforementioned platform made an analogy that garnered the most attention, they related the entirety of it to Phil Mickelson.
PGA Tour knocks on Golf world’s door with a big announcement
It is a known fact that for the past few months, the PGA Tour has been dropping one announcement after the other. A few months back in August, they announced the first nine elevated events of the 2022-2023 season.

Recently, the PGA Tour made yet another huge announcement. They announced the expected elevation of four additional tournaments this season. They include the WM Phoenix Open, the RBC Heritage, the Wells Fargo Championship, and the Travelers Championship.

However, as per some sources, these elevated events won’t be the same in 2024. They said, “These events worked with a schedule that had already been announced.”
This latest action of the Tour is said to be a comeback or a response to the threat posed by LIV Golf. Ever since the introduction of LIV Golf to the picture, things have changed a lot for the PGA Tour. The tour is now trying to evolve for the better in order to stay at the top.

As soon as the massive announcement made its way to the fans, the golf world turned into a frenzy. Phil Mickelson’s switch from the Tour
Mickelson’s skill is unmatched by probably anyone in this generation. As was expected, when he defected to LIV Golf, it made heads turn. The 52-year-old has gained much love and a huge following based on his golfing skills.
Mickelson explained the reason for his move. He termed this shift as transformative. In all honesty, it is clearly a big shift for any player, Phil Mickelson’s experience and age make this move even more exciting for him.
He said, “This new path is a fresh start, one that is exciting for me at this stage of my career and is clearly transformative, not just for myself, but ideally for the game and my peers. I would like to think that I have given back as well but now I am excited about this new opportunity.”
So clearly, Phil does seem to be having a fun time playing for LIV Golf now that things have turned the way he wanted them to.
