The golf world has many legends and many upcoming stars as well. Rory McIlroy currently fits into both categories. With four majors and 23 PGA Tour wins at the age of just 33, it’s safe to say he’s certainly seen a lot of glory days. Golf glory also comes with enormous cash prizes. In fact, just this season, through all his events, Rory made about 40 million USD.

His fans and all the onlookers were amazed at by this number, and they let the whole world know.
Fans react to the massive earnings of Rory McIlroy
Jared Doerfler, a golf enthusiast who writes about the business side of golf, recently tweeted about Rory McIlroy’s total earnings this year. It was a little north of 40 million USD. He went on to calculate the per-round income as per Rory’s total money and wrote, “That is $630k for every round in the 21/22 PGA Tour season.“
Rory McIlroy had a hell of a year on the PGA Tour.
• FedEx Cup Bonus – $18 million
• PIP Bonus – $12 million
• PGA Tour Money – $8.6 million
• Comcast Bonus – $1.7 millionTotal – $40.3 million.
That is $630k for every round in the 21/22 PGA Tour season.

Fans were stunned by Rory’s earnings and congratulated him.

Rory’s wins in 2022 which led to his earnings
Unquestionably, Rory had an incredible season in 2022. The world number one won three events. He went head-to-head with Scottie Scheffler for the FedEx Cup and came out on top. McIlroy said in his post-win interview, “I feel like Scottie deserves at least half of this today. He has had an unbelievable season.”

Scottie and McIlroy battled the entire season for the number-one spot and multiple wins across the tour. While Scottie took the Major win at the Masters in Augusta, Rory won the FedEx Cup, and they hilariously joked about being even. He said, “We’re one all in Georgia this year. He got the Masters I got this.”
McIlroy also won the RBC Canadian Open this year, making it back-to-back wins for him. He also got his first win of the 2022–2023 season while defending the CJ CUP. Rory now has two chances in 2023 to make a three-peat. Will he be able to?
