The $6.5 million Amundi Evian Championship, which is taking place at the Evian Resort Golf Club, has quite a tricky course layout. While some players like the French favorite Celine Boutier still managed to tackle the difficulties of this course, many failed to live up to their expectations in challenging conditions.

One such player who is not satisfied with her performance is the Korean professional golfer, Jenny Shin. Although Shin had showcased quite the game at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship and secured the tied 8th position, this treacherous layout at Evian Resort Club even left this LPGA pro frustrated. Thus, she took to social media in order to let out her exasperation.

What excuse does the LPGA pro have for her poor performance in the Amundi Evian Championship?

As of now, LPGA pro-Jenny Shin has had quite a mixed experience in this year’s LPGA majors. In the Chevron Championship, which was the LPGA’s first major of 2023, this Korean golfer couldn’t even make the cut. Then, in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, her performance relatively improved, and she locked up the tied 8th position for herself. Then, in the US Women’s Open, she showcased a marvelous game and was tied for second at Pebble Beach.

In the 2023 Amundi Evian Championship, her gameplay has fallen again. The double bogeys took a toll on this 30-year-old and she is quite offended with the course and also disappointed with her below-par performance.

Thus, she took to Twitter to let out her infuriation and said, “This course is so foul for a fade player (me) yup. That’s my excuse. My track record at this course has been pretty damn consistent. In this context, she calls herself a fade player and disregards her skills.

Also, she appears to imply that this course is not good enough for her. In addition to this, she talks about her track record as well which she claims here to be consistent but perhaps that’s in a sarcastic tone since her gameplay in the previous years of this major was substandard because in the 2022 Amundi Evian Championship she finished T58 and T50 the year before.
