Spiranac takes a stand against critics’ comments

“It’s like my whole life I’m trying to find a place where I can fit in and that I feel comfortable and that I feel at peace with myself and I haven’t found that,” Spiranac said. She talked about how people have been judgemental towards her because of the way she dresses. “I wear a tank top and I’m the s–t and I’m the w—e and I’m the one that’s ruining the game,”

Spiranac also mentioned a time when she was stopped from helping out a charity because of the image she had among the people. When she offered to provide them with free golf lessons, the person in charge answered back, “We would love to, but because of the way our board members view you, you can’t help out.” She added, “That’s unfair to me and unfair to all of my accomplishments.”

Spiranac added that some of her fans believe she had the easy route in life. She thinks that a lot of PGA Tour are spared by fans for their dressing sense and that all attention is on her when it comes to golf course attire.

She said, “Golf is the absolute worst place for me to be because I am the exact opposite of everything that a golfer should encompass, should be, and I’m not,”. She mentioned how she and other female golfers face the same issues every day where their accomplishments are considered a reward for their beauty.
