It has been a testing time for LIV golfers. After a disappointing run at the Masters, where only 8 were able to make it to the weekend, they are now ready to return to their territory from April 26 to April 28.

Australia will be the location of LIV Golf’s sixth tournament of 2024. A star-studded group will gather at The Grange Golf Club in Adelaide to compete for both individual and team championships. But what is it about this course that sets it apart from the rest? Let’s find out.

The Grange Golf Club, the venue for the competition in 2023, will again serve as the event’s location. Lying close to the ocean and not far from central Adelaide, The Grange Golf Club often appears in lists of Australia’s top golf courses. The Grange’s two highly regarded courses—West and East—will be combined to create the LIV Golf Adelaide layout.

With more than a century of history, The Grange Golf Club has a rich past. The game was first played on the grounds in 1910 when the McCoy family opened their estate to players. Officially established in 1926, the club opened its Cargie Rymill-designed course the following year. Vern Morcom made layout modifications following World War II, and the 1967 opening of the Morcom-designed West course gave form to the modern 36-hole facility.

The East course, which Greg Norman renovated in 2012, has holes 9–10 and 12–18. These will be the locations of holes 1–9 on the composite course. Holes 10 through 18 on the composite course will be located on the back nine of the West course, which was developed by former Australian professional Mike Clayton. The West course, which has a classic sand belt layout, played host to the Women’s Australian Open in 2016 and 2019.

The 2023 Adelaide event was a huge success for the Saudi-funded league. Over 40,000 tickets were sold, and it was indeed one big party! The Watering Hole, which is the nickname of the 161-yard par-3 12th hole, gives spectators a party vibe similar to a stadium. It was introduced last year and became an instant hit. It was compared to the WM Phoenix Open’s Party hole at that time.

Bars will be positioned around the hole by LIV Golf, and a live DJ will be there to get the party started. The LIV golfers will also be given personalized walk-out music as they come into the tee box, adding to the exciting atmosphere. This is identical to what happens during the PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic.

The hole-in-one by Chase Koepka at LIV Golf Adelaide occurred on this 12th hole last year, sparking an uproar among fans. Spectators showered the golfer with beer. The firm and fast greens demand the utmost precision and could play into the hands of local legend Cam Smith and his all-Australian team, Rippers GC.

With a $25 million total purse on the line, the stage is set for a vibrant atmosphere and excellent golf at the famous Grange Golf Club in Adelaide.
