The hype in the golf world reached an all-time high as the 2023 Ryder Cup saw a dramatic finish at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club. Although all golfers put on an amazing show, only one team was going to lift the trophy at the end. It proved to be none other than the Luke Donald-led team that emerged victorious in the clash of the Titans.

The community saw a stunning display of golf as the European team wrested back the cup from America who won the event last time around in 2021. The squad of talented golfers pushed past the Zach Johnson-led team to mark their names in the annals of history. This was Europe’s 15th Ryder Cup title.

Rory McIlroy and Co. managed to utterly destroy their American counterparts on the first day of the biennial event. They won the opening day by 6.5-1.5 as they won all the Friday foursomes before going on to win one and tie three fourball matches in the afternoon session. The next day saw the US team making a slight comeback as they pushed their points to 5.5 with finally a win in the fourball round. They won three out of those four matches.

The Americans were still trailing by five points. However, the ever-exciting final day witnessed Johnson’s team put up a strong fight as they managed to win 5 of 12 singles matches that were played while halving two. Max Homa, Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay won their matches while Jordan Spieth and Scottie Scheffler tied theirs. Nevertheless, such a display could not prevent the European glory as the hosts prevailed in the end rather comfortably. How did you feel after witnessing such an exciting competition?
