A former LPGA Tour player, 33-year-old Michelle Wie West, became a golfing sensation at a very young age. West, who began playing golf at the age of 10, became the youngest golfer to qualify for the USGA Tour.

West later went on to win her first and only major at the 2014 US Women’s Open. However, the young golfer shocked her fans by retiring from golf in 2022. On Friday, the former professional golfer made an appearance at the Augusta National Golf Course, pleasantly surprising her longtime fans.

Some of her loyal fans were shocked to learn that it was her first time at Augusta, with one fan terming her video, “The content we need from the Masters.”

Last year, Wie West shocked everyone when she announced her retirement. The player had revealed that she was going through some health issues that made it hard for her to continue playing.

West, however, delighted her fans by appearing at the iconic Augusta National. She also tried out the renowned sandwiches that the golf club is famous for. Fans flooded her the comments of her Instagram video with compliments, with one fan even calling her a “national treasure.”

While fans were happy to see West enjoy her time there as a spectator, they were also disappointed in the fact that this was her first time at the Augusta National. During her glorious playing days, the golf star claimed five professionals victories, including one Major win in 2014.

How is it possible this is her first time going?,” observed a surprised fan. This reaction was seconded by another fan, who said, “I cant believe they never invited you to Augusta before.” Her absence from earlier editions of the Masters was the common talking point as another fan noted, “The real issue with this video is that it’s your first time there.

Fans were also glad to witness the golfer having a good time at the event. “So fun to see this side of you,” commented another golf enthusiast under West’s Instagram post.

While at the Masters, the former golf star treated herself to four unique sandwiches. Her clear favorite was the Georgia Peach ice cream sandwich, which she gave an 11/10. The sandwich even incited a wholesome reaction out West, who said, “I want like 10 of these. I will be back!”  The beauty also enjoyed a glass of wine with the food items, which she hilariously gave a 10/10.

Following her 2014 Major win, West struggled with a wrist injury. Boasting over 600K followers on Instagram, the former pro-golfer has had a busy few years.

Over the past three years, West not only got married, but she also gave birth to a child. For someone who has been a professional golfer since the young age of 15, her early retirement is reasonable.

Post her retirement, Wie West expounded upon the fact that being a mother to her child was a main priority for her. She has also candidly talked about motherhood being an extremely exhausting task, even more so than professional golf.
