The Masters tournament is widely regarded as one of the year’s greatest sporting events. Golf fans all across the world wait for this event just to see their favorite player win. Last year, Scottie Scheffler won the title. However, the fans of Tiger Woods were rooting for him last year, and this year, they really wish him to win his 16th Major victory. Amid this, the senior golfer John Daly has a great reputation for being an outstanding golfer. But now the question is, will he make his appearance at Augusta National this year?

Will the ‘wild thing’ John Daly grace his fans with his presence at Masters 2023?

The senior pro golfer John Daly will not be playing at the Masters Tournament this year as well. The renowned golfer hasn’t participated in the storied Augusta National since 2006. 30 years after a T3 at the Masters, marked his finest performance there. Despite this, his absence hasn’t been noticed because he has continued a practice that he started in 1997 during the first Major of the season. Daly has spent the majority of Masters week at the Hooters tent in the Augusta National Golf Course parking lot.

Daly talked to David Meltzer in an interview in 2008. He discussed the tradition and said, Hooters is like a family to me, you know.” He also added, “We have done this since 1997 when I played the Masters, and I do it when I don’t”. While the tent may serve food for the visitors, it also acts as a fan meetup for his fans.

All the fans of Big John will get the opportunity to meet the two-time Major winner. They can also buy his merchandise, get his autograph and also take a picture with him. The Masters is only a few days away and fans rooting for their favorite golfer. Daly’s fans will not get to see him play. However, this will be a great opportunity for them to meet their star. Despite him not playing, he will grace Augusta and his fans with his presence due to the 26-year-old tradition with Hooters. And fans are happy about it.

Daly has won two major titles in his illustrious career: the 1995 Open Championship and the 1991 PGA Championship. The wins aided his participation in the Masters in the early 2000s. However, his appearances there have progressively diminished. But that didn’t stop him from giving his followers the opportunity to win a box of Bermuda grass grown in Georgia at the Augusta National.

Daly concluded a recent video with his famous tagline after claiming that the product would improve the Masters experience for viewers who were viewing at home. He said, “Just grip it and rip it. See you in Georgia.” He also mentioned two must-haves while watching Augusta in action. Daly said, “1) A cold bevvy 2) A box filled with some Georgia-grown Bermuda grass, pine boughs and azaleas, so it’s like you’re actually there.” So, are you ready to meet him?
