Koepka makes Masters special for a 9-year-old boy

On Sunday, Koepka had a four-shot advantage at the Masters, but by the end of the day, he suffered a four-shot defeat. During his weather-delayed third round at Augusta National, he started with a bogey on the 12th hole and had another bogey on the 17th. In his final round, he had a rough start and bogeyed the 4th, 6th, 9th, and 12th holes, which essentially ended his chances of winning. Jon Rahm ended up winning the tournament. Koepka was seen walking behind the 18th green, signaling the end of his participation.

Amidst the stunning defeat, Koepka oozed class and made a 9-year-old boy’s Masters extremely special, as per Golf.com. The boy in question is a fan from Aiken, South Carolina, named Edwin Platt. He waved at Koepka and the star golfer made eye contact with him.

The heartwarming interaction between the 9-year-old fan and a golfer just didn’t end there. Koepka proceeded and tossed him his gamer golf ball. The boy caught it and his experience was made memorable. To top it off, Edwin managed to catch not one but two balls. Such instances highlight Koepka’s soft side and recently, his wife Jena Sims revealed more about it.

Brooks Koepka may appear like a tough man from the outside, but in fact, he is a softy. His wife also says so. “Like, he’s emotionally intelligent. I think that the world kind of views him as this tough guy with a chip on his shoulder, and Netflix really opened up his heart.”
