Tiger Woods’ historic win at the 2000 US Open at Pebble Beach
Tiger unlocked one of the biggest achievements of his life at the 2000 US Open when he broke the 138-year-old record of Old Tom Morris for the largest margin of victory for any Major which Tom made during the time of the American Civil War. He was in competition on the field with players like Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson, but Woods surpassed everyone and established his dominance at Pebble Beach.

The weather was not at all in favor as conditions such as fog had already caused delays. But with the help of many good shots like a triple-bogey 7 on the third hole, a 12-foot par putt, and some other exceptional techniques, Woods took home the shiny US Open trophy that Saturday. He even made the lowest score ever of 65, ever shot at Pebble Beach for a U.S. Open. He took his numbers to double digits when no one was able to make par.

The year 2000 was an outstanding year for Woods who had a total of 9 wins that year, including – the Memorial Tournament, PGA Championship, Canadian Open, and the Open Championship. In a surprising coincidence, Woods enjoyed another victory on Pebble Beach Pro-Am only four months ago in February when he defeated Matt Gogel. It was his sixth PGA Tour victory. But people still recall his US Open victory as one of his greatest achievements.
