In a conversation with GolfChannel.com, Stroud said, “I’ve been frustrated with what the Tour’s done for years… The Tour doesn’t care about you if you’re not in the top 30 and I learned quickly that I needed to take care of myself. ”

The way Rory McIlroy has remained loyal to the PGA Tour throughout its ups and downs has not been hidden from anyone in the golf world. In a recent turn of events, however, the famous Northern Irishman has had to resign as the Player Director of the PGA Tour Policy Board. Many speculations have made the rounds in the golf world regarding the reason behind Rory’s sudden resignation.

Chris Stroud’s frustration with the matter has been related to why Rory McIlroy might have resigned. The 4X major champion has expressed his admiration for his PGAT compatriots on several occasions, and allegedly seeing them not being treated well might have been hard on him. The 41-year-old pro sure did not stop here, as he had other things to say about the PGA Tour.

Chris Stroud famously appeared in the LIV Golf promotions events and has tried his luck at the Saudi-backed league. While the same option does not seem to be a viable option for Rory McIlroy considering his strong feelings about LIV Golf, the only option that was available to McIlroy was to resign from his post. In the midst of all this, however, Troud has actively taken a step back to take care of himself.

He has also took the opportunity to criticize the “bad culture” on the PGA Tour when it comes to the players. Emphasizing his stand, he spoke, “The Tour has built this bad culture. I love [Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan], but the Tour has never tried to give back to the players, we’ve never had a voice. So, Jay has had a free hand to do whatever he wants.”
