Paige Spiranac on cyberbullying
Back in 2015, Paige Spiranac avoided social media for three weeks after the Ladies European Tournament. One of the major reason behind that was the bullying she had faced on social media. She was so devastated by the cruel and unfiltered reaction of people that she just wanted to quit.
Paige calls it to be the hardest experience of her life by outlining the massive online abuse encountered by her in the 2015 edition. According to a Golf Digest article, Paige during an interview while talking about cyber bullying said, “If I can share my story, and I’m okay with being emotional about it and I’m okay with kind of expressing what happened to me. Because people don’t realize how hard it was on me . . . people saying the world is better off without me.”

Paige reiterated, “
Cyber bullying is a huge problem and no one ever discusses it. It’s no longer funny. It’s not the cool thing to do to make fun of other people, and you need to be supportive and I think that’s really important.” But instead of being demotivated, the golf influencer grew through the struggles of her life and headed into next year’s tournament with a mature and improvised perspective.ADVERTISEMENT
