Paige Spiranac took an indefinite break from professional golf in 2016. However, she is still connected with the sport as she gives online tips for better golf. Saying goodbye to professional golf did not end her concerns for female golfers. She was part of the LPGA and knew how it felt to be surrounded by all men in a sport where women hardly succeed.

Nothing could ever stop her from taking a stand for all women. She did the same in 2017. The stricter dress code for women golfers was not acceptable to Spiranac, and she criticized it publicly. In a 2018 interview, she revealed her true feelings about all the men that dominate golf and make unnecessary rules. Let’s see what the internet queen with 3.7 million followers had to say about the rules in 2018.
Why was Paige Spiranac furious?
Regarding stricter dress codes for LPGA golfers, Spiranac became furious. She took a dig at all “middle-aged men” calling golf progressive when it was not. According to her, male golfers feel more accepted in comparison to women. When a male golfer walks on the course, the male audience and male authorities surround him. They all look the same.
However, if a woman walks on the golf course, she is surrounded by men, not women. Therefore, she does not feel accepted. Authorities, especially men, make a big fuss about women golfers wearing leggings or skirts. The golf beauty respects and understands traditions, but men act like “the world is ending” if they see female golfers wearing what they want.

Golf is a male-dominated sport that has been that way for years. There are rules and traditions, and men do not like their practices to change. Therefore, to keep the tradition going, they introduced the new rule in July 2017. The regulations prohibited female golfers from wearing plunging necklines, leggings, skirts, or shorts to the golf course.

Why was the new dress code introduced?
The authorities introduced a strict dress code to represent the professionalism of the sport. The chief communications and tour operations officer of LPGA, Heather Daly-Donofrio, talked to Golf Digest about the new rule in July 2017. She said, “The dress code requires players to present themselves in a professional manner to reflect a positive image for the game.”
The rules were emailed to all the LPGA members on July 2, 2017. The email also mentioned that these rules would have to be enacted on July 17, 2017. If any female golfer fails to follow the dress code, a fine of $1,000 would be imposed on her. And the fine amount will keep doubling with every offense.
