Phil Mickelson’s recent Twitter outburst isn’t going away anytime soon. But his latest Tweet, which featured his opinion on a LIV Golf vs PGA Tour team event, has sent netizens into a frenzy. What did he say about the result of such an event that has been so hotly debated?

With the new season up and running, fans on the internet were toying with the idea of a match-up between the PGA Tour and the LIV Golf Series. The boards of the two Tours have been at loggerheads for months, with the case headed to courtrooms. But that didn’t stop fans from expressing the winners and losers of such an event.

However, all hell broke loose when Mickelson, who’s been suddenly active on Twitter, gave his two cents. The veteran golfer left no stone unturned in his one-sided view, in which he claimed LIV golfers win without any hurdles.

He even argued that the keenly-anticipated match would be over too soon due to LIV golfer’s dominance, stating that the “tv would have to fill an hour of dead time.” The opinion turned heads on Twitter, with fans debating over the polarizing opinion.

While such an event could be highly promising and enthralling to watch, the chances of a LIV Golf vs PGA Tour game look slim. If not for the cases in court, the two boards have taken bold stances against each other as well.

Immediately after Mickelson’s departure to the rebel league, the PGA Tour announced the rebuking of PGA membership cards of players who made the switch. Several top pros turned their loyalties, which resulted in wide speculations and made the situation messy.

While the two leagues now co-exist, the animosity has grown ever closer. The participation of players at major championships will be seen as the way ahead in golf, which is expected to allow LIV players to take part.
