“I am just missing kind of that like intensity that we had with Tiger and seeing someone be so dominant and so special.” Spiranac explained to Amanda Rose, her co-host on the ‘Playing a Round with Paige Renee’ podcast.

She further added that back when Woods was playing, people used to go out and watch him play, but now there is no one like him on the Tour. “He transcends the game, and I feel like we are kind of missing that right now.”

“I like that like head-to-head competitiveness that I just kind of feel like golf is missing right now,” the former golfer said. She explained that all the winners of the Tour events this season are too nice to each other. All of them want each other to become the best and progress that way.

“There’s some appeal to that,” Spiranac agreed. However, she still isn’t happy that there is nobody on the Tour who shows competitiveness like Woods used to. “There’s no spark to me,” she finally added.

Since he joined the PGA Tour in 1996, Woods has been keeping the golf world on its toe with his record-breaking victories. While his golfing skills are an important part of his victory, his competitiveness was an added fuel.

Despite having a broken leg at the 2008 U. S. Open, he won it because of his will to win. Since he is known for his on and off-course rivalry with Phil Mickelson, people were eager to watch the competition they were competing in head-to-head.

The era of Tiger Woods is irreplaceable. The majority of the golf fans got attracted to the sport because of him. People used to look forward to watching him win and celebrate with all his might in the past. And Paige Spiranac thinks that the kind of fire that he brought on the course is no more there.
