The Spaniard then explained the audience’s point of view and said, “They don’t care if I slept good or bad, I feel good or bad. It doesn’t matter. As a competitor, I’m not ducking anything in that sense. I’m going to go out and try to shoot low.” Earlier, he confessed that his intention was to try his hardest. Rahm also revealed that he needs physical and mental recovery. He played 30 holes on Sunday, and his body will take some time to recover. He wanted to take the week off, but that could not be the case because he committed to play at the RBC Heritage and he wanted to stick to it.

However, he took Monday and Tuesday off and is getting better each day. Hopefully, we’ll see him at his best soon. Winning at Augusta National is a great honor, but it seems there are some downsides as well.

The other side of the Masters Tournament

Rahm was over the moon after winning $3.24 Million at Augusta. However, his happiness could not last long, affecting the first round of the RBC Heritage. After long celebrations, Rahm revealed that he was not useful at all on Monday, because he celebrated his victory for 72 hours, and on Monday he was too exhausted to attend to any matter or perform any action.

Viktor Hovland, who also played at the Masters, took the lead in the opening round at Harbour Town Golf Links. But unfortunately, Rahm was eight shots behind Hovland. The Spanish golfer confessed his exhaustion during the pre-tournament conference, saying, “I hate to make excuses, but a couple of the swings towards the end were my body being tired and surprised me.”
