Phil Hellmuth had once planned to shock Woods with his 16th world championship bracelet. Needless to say, the poker king is known for making and maintaining connections.

Hellmuth had thought that he would scream, “This is what it is like to have 16, bi**h!” All set to execute his plan as soon as Phil started to speak, Woods interrupted with something that made him rethink his plan.

Considering the nature of the relationship the two players share, this would have been well received by Woods, thought Phil Hellmuth.

However, Woods foiled the plan of the poker king and congratulated him before he could announce his win the way he had planned. Woods said, “That’s your 16th world championship bracelet, it’s so beautiful, I’m so proud of you, I knew you could do it.”

Phil Hellmuth knew at that moment that he could no longer accomplish his plan and retreated to thank the golfer for his sweet words.

Many fans also know Tiger Woods for the bonds he has forged in the past. Be it Hellmuth or NBA’s Michael Jordan, Woods shares some deep connections with athletes even outside the world of golf.

He is also friends with the tennis star, Serena Williams. In fact, Williams hailed the golfer as the main reason she was still playing as he motivated her.

Thus, it’s not surprising to see the golfer congratulate Hellmuth, though in doing so, he spilled water over his friend’s plans. At the end of the day, even if things don’t go as planned, sometimes the people involved shine through.
