‘Tiger Didn’t Dare’: Despite Their Powerful Relationship, Tiger Woods Refused to Come Clean About His Ugly Controversies, His Long-Time Caddie Once Revealed

Tiger Woods has been involved in various controversies throughout his professional career. While most of his squabbles were about his professional life, there were some surrounding his relationships as well. And his longtime caddie, Steve Williams, once revealed how he had no idea about Tiger Woods’ personal life.

Steve Williams and Tiger Woods were not only related professionally but were also very good friends. The two spent years playing together until Woods decided to let him go. However, despite spending so much time around him, Williams had no idea about Woods’ alleged relationship controversies.

Tiger Woods was in the news for months and months after his divorce from Elin Nordegren. The golf legend was heavily judged and scrutinized by the golf world for his alleged actions. However, people closest to him, including Williams and Nordegren, had no idea what was happening.

According to Steve Williams’ famous book ‘Out of the Rough’, he was completely unaware of what Woods did in his personal life away from home. He mentioned how he thought going to the gym was Woods’ only escape from the public’s eye. However, as things turned out later, he figured he was wrong.

“When you live so intensely in the public eye, you surely have to have something else away from the spotlight that gives you pleasure – and it turns out I was wrong about the gym,” he mentioned on page 194. But after he discovered details about Woods’ personal life adventures, he was shocked about not knowing an inch of it. “How could I spend so much time with him and not have an inkling this was going on?” he wrote.

But the fact that Nordegren had no idea about it too, showed how well the golfer had reportedly concealed the truth. Although he stated that some of Woods’ old buddies knew about it, Williams still had no idea. “I didn’t know because Tiger didn’t dare tell me,” he said. And according to him, it was because of the bond he shared with the golf legend.

He also mentioned that if he had found out about the matter, his relationship with Woods might as well have ended then and there. “I would have zero tolerance,” he said. Tiger Woods was taken aback by the response from his fans regarding the controversy. But it didn’t change the fact that his marriage had come to an end. And his alleged actions had jeopardized his future with his family.
