The world of golf has been going through tons of changes in the last few months. Various golfers have left the PGA Tour and joined the new Saudi-backed league for money. However, money can’t buy the remarkable records that certain players have made on the field. And there are only a few players who have set the bar so high. And only 3 golfers have been able to reach that height. Reaching the first rank in the world golf rankings is a big deal, but staying there for more than a year, is something only three players have ever done.

The Official World Golf Ranking depicts the rank of every golfer across the world in the sport. Currently, leading the list on number 1 is Scottie Scheffler and he has been there for quite some time. However, there have only been three players who have been on the first rank for more than 52 successive weeks.

The first one on the list is Sir Nick Faldo, who has held the position 4 times. Faldo has been an inspiration for many golfers, including the next one on the list golf legend, Tiger Woods. Woods was one of the youngest players to ever reach the world No. 1 rank at the age of 21. Woods has always admired Sir Nick Faldo as a golfer, and Faldo has also been a well-wisher of Woods. The golf legend held the first position 11 times. Faldo has been world no. 1 for 97 weeks, while Woods has been on the top for 683 weeks in his career till date.
