Tiger Woods may have one of the most decorated resumes in the world of golf. However, when it comes to his love life, the same can not be said. Woods will soon be frequently visiting the courtroom to face off his former girlfriend Erica Herman, for a $30 million lawsuit. While it may sound ugly, let’s find out who among the duo was the main cause behind their split.

During the 2017 Presidents Cup, golf fans open-heartedly welcomed Herman into the golf world when she was spotted with Tiger publicly for the first time. Before dating the golf legend, Erica managed Woods’ Florida-based restaurant.

It was in the ‘The Woods’ Jupiter’ where the former couple met for the first time. Nonetheless, years after spending their lives together, the Hall of Famer had to lock out his ex-girlfriend from his $54 million Jupiter Island mansion. What caused the ugly breakup? Let’s find out.

The reason behind Tiger Woods and Erica Herman’s split

Although Woods has millions of fans worldwide, he did not publicly announce his breakup with Herman. The sudden disclosure that Erica was suing Tiger for $30 million stunned the golfing community. Though the former couple hasn’t publicly talked about their messy split, a source close to Tiger’s ex-girlfriend revealed the cause of their acrimonious breakup.

Erica Herman was by Tiger Woods’ side during his life-threatening car accident in February of 2021. Since she supported the golfer during his worst time, Herman did expect loyalty in return. However, as per sources, Woods on the other hand wasn’t prepared for a long-term relationship. Moreover, the same source also revealed that Tiger had gotten ‘restless’ with his relationship even before the accident.

The accident also caused a decline in the Hall of Famer’s professional career which once used to shine for more than two decades. Tiger couldn’t withstand ‘so many frustrations and complications’ in his golf career, claimed the source. Nonetheless, Erica Herman isn’t letting go of her former beau so easily. She will now be seeking $30 million from Woods in a settlement. But why?

Why is Herman suing Woods?

Before even announcing their split, the news of the $30 million was announced publicly. From thereon, fans became aware of Tiger Woods’ current relationship status. According to the lawsuit, Herman was reportedly forced to sign a ‘Non-Disclosure Agreement’ in 2017 by the 15-time Major winner.

The agreement was to let Erica stay in Woods’ $54 million worth mansion in Florida for a ‘certain duration of time’. However, as per Herman’s lawsuit in March, she claims Tiger broke the ‘Oral Tenancy Agreement’ of the couple. While the golfer’s lawyers defended him by saying to have provided Herman with a sum of money and a stay at the ‘luxury resort’, the ex-girlfriend is eyeing the Billionaire’s Jupiter Island mansion along with the $30 million.

The lawyers also claimed that Erica was only allowed to live in the home while she was dating Woods. Regardless, the troubles for both parties are only beginning as the blossoming days together are well behind them. As Tiger Woods’ ugly split gets uglier, he will make every effort to resolve it without any further hardship.
