The golf world has seen numerous ups and downs since various talented players have come to the field to play. But some golf legends had an entire era known by their name. And one of these legends was American professional golfer, Arnold Palmer, who passed away in September 2016. Palmer was not only a fans’ favorite but a golf great, who was loved by other legendary golfers themselves including Tiger Woods. Moreover, Palmer also received tributes from two former Presidents of the US after his demise.

Tiger Woods, Obama, and Trump gave heartfelt tributes to Arnold Palmer post-death
Arnold Palmer set various records in his career as a professional golfer. And one of his biggest admirers was the 15-time major champion, Tiger Woods. Woods was in grief after Palmer’s demise like the rest of the world. He took his grief to Twitter and wrote some heartfelt words for the late golfer. “Thanks, Arnold for your friendship, counsel, and a lot of laughs. Your philanthropy and humility are part of your legend.” Woods tweeted.

Woods was not only a fan but a great friend of Palmer as well. He shared another tweet saying “It’s hard to imagine golf without you or anyone more important to the game than the King.” But Woods was not the only famous personality to have shared his sorrow about Palmer’s death on social media. Ex-President, Donald Trump, also tweeted “Saddened to hear about the great Arnold Palmer’s passing…he was an amazing man and American.”

And soon, adding up to the list of tributes was Former POTUS, Barack Obama, with a picture of him holding a club in his office alongside Palmer. “Thanks for the memories, Arnold.” Obama wrote. Twitter was filled with sad posts by fans and celebrities about the loss of such a great golfer.

Palmer’s death inspired Woods to re-analyze his golf legacy
Palmer was a great friend of Tiger Woods and the two spent a lot of time together on the field. Woods had learned so much from Palmer and was inspired by the way people remembered him after his death. After returning to professional golfer post-surgery, the golfer had a second chance to regain his authority in the sport. His former caddie, Williams, once said that Palmer’s death might have inspired Woods to rethink his legacy.
