The sports world has seen many athletes go through scandals in their careers. There is no bigger scandal in golf than that of Tiger Woods in 2009-2010. During that difficult time of controversy in his life, everyone had an opinion about the golf legend. His family, too, didn’t hold back. His half-brother, Earl Jr., too voiced his disappointment about the incident and went on to reveal how Woods’ mother had molded his career path. 

The controversial period of Woods’ life was probably the most difficult time he’s faced. Following his alleged scandal, in 2010, the golf pro suffered an ugly divorce. But no one at the time went easy on him.

His half-brother expresses his disappointment in Tiger Woods

Late in 2009, Woods’ marriage scandal came to light. It was followed by a public and messy split with his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren. Despite his repentance and regret, the media had made the father of two’s life a living hell. During that time, he went through a lot, including hearing his own brother, Earl Jr., express his displeasure with the incident.

Speaking to FOX’s Phoenix affiliate, Earl Jr. expressed how disappointed he was by Woods’ actions. Earl Jr. was Tiger Woods’ father and Earl’s son from his first marriage. He went on to say that he was certain that Woods had let their father down too. As per Yahoo Sports, he stated, “My dad would be very disappointed in [Tiger].”

Woods Jr. added that his father would also want to know how Woods was planning to right his wrongs. “He’d probably want to know how he will fix it,” he explained.“You know, ‘You’re old enough to get into this mess. How are you going to repair that?'”

Earl Jr. reveals Woods’ mother’s approach to life, which she instilled in him

Woods’ elder half-brother didn’t stop with just the one family member they shared. He went on to talk about Woods’ mother, Kultida Woods, too. As per Earl Jr., Tilda was responsible for Tiger’s competitiveness and winning drive. But according to him, that was not the only thing she taught him.

Earl Jr. claimed that Tilda enjoyed not only winning but also humiliating her opponents. He stated, “Tida, my stepmother, has a very strong, you know, embarrass them, humiliate them, drag them through the mud [approach to life].” He believed that the pro golfer got his “strong drive to punish” from his mother.
