Whenever golf professionals approach a shot, they are uncertain about the outcome. The element of uncertainty or surprise helps the golf fans from all parts of the world stay hooked to the sport and enjoy playing and watching it. Tiger Woods spoke about the same in an interview back in 2020.

Woods talked about the uncertainty of sports in a video conference interview with Phil Mickelson, Peyton Manning, and the NFL star Tom Brady before the Capital’s One Match.

The exhibition match took place at the Medalist Golf Club, in which Woods and Manning took on the six-time major championship winner and Brady.

Apart from mentioning the uncertainty factor, the 82-time PGA Tour winner also spoke about how underdogs can sometimes win and get the best of all the other players.

He said, “Well, that’s what sports is. It’s the ultimate reality show. You don’t know what’s going to happen, you don’t know the outcome. You could have underdogs beating the glass and you could have tough type competitions. I as an athlete, I missed that.”

He added, “I know what it feels like to be in that arena. We, as golfers, we’ve been playing a lot down here, a lot of the guys have been playing matches around here, but it’s still not playing for trophies. It’s just different and we miss competing, I just really do, I really do miss watching my friends go out there and do it at a high level, and I put whatever they have on the line to succeed.”

The former World Number One’s words prove how much professionals enjoy having the unpredictability in golf. At the same time, it also depicts how maybe that is one thing that competitive golf is missing right now.

When did Tiger Woods win his last major event?

Woods won his fifth Masters title and his 15th major championship in 2019. He emphatically won at the Augusta National Golf Club and ended the event with an overall score of 13-under-par. As a result, he won the event with a close margin of only one shot. His win at the Masters in 2019, was his first major championship triumph in almost 11 years.

Woods carded a final round of two-under-par, 70 to finish on the top of the leaderboard. His final round of 70 included three birdies and two bogeys on the opening nine holes. As a result, he moved out in one-under-par, 35. Tiger made three birdies and two bogeys on the back nine to register probably one of the best comeback stories the sport has ever witnessed.
