Tiger Woods’ TGL confirmation leads to a subtle theory

The 47-year-old is currently recuperating from ankle surgery following his Masters withdrawal back in April. He has since missed the PGA Championship and the US Open, with the Open Championship also set to be skipped.

Yet, it could eventually spell doom for fans worldwide. The TGL league will commence in January 2024, which follows the same timeline as that of the 2024 PGA TOUR season. With Woods set to appear in the indoor competition, fans could make a case for his return to the TOUR around the same time.

Does Tiger Woods plan on playing at the PGA TOUR?

Unfortunately, the golf legend hasn’t posted an update for his reappearance on the PGA TOUR. Whilst it’s expected that his participation will be limited, a complete absence from the TOUR could be baffling.

Indeed, Woods could be concerned with the PGA TOUR and its command, which has faced numerous questions over the last month. After criticizing the breakaway LIV Golf Series for years, Jay Monahan and his members decided to merge with the PIF-funded league in a $3 billion deal, which drew sharp criticism from fans and players alike.

While many claimed that they were uninformed about the paramount decision, Woods’ entourage would have been surely sought before the merger. Yet, the fifteen-time major championship winner defended the badge of the PGA TOUR pointlessly, all the while rejecting a high nine-figure contract to stay on his home tour.

Will the PGA TOUR pay for its decisive merger? Do you think Woods will play on the PGA TOUR again? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
