But it will be also his first event after his split with Nike. The two ended their 27-year partnership, shocking the whole golf world. Now it seems that along with changing his apparel, he has made another change as well! And that change is in his equipment. The 48-year-old will be rocking the new version of Tour B X Ball at the upcoming 2024 Genesis Invitational. He has been consistently making changes in his bag. For his last event in December, he used a TaylorMade Qi10 LS Driver with a Graphite Design Tour AD VF 6 X. Before that, Woods was using a TaylorMade Stealth Plus Driver for the majority of 2023. But that’s not the only change he has made over the years.

Tiger Woods shares his ‘Holy Grail’ for the new Bridgestone Tour B X Balls

The 48-year-old switched his pick for golf balls in 2022 too. Before 2022, he was using Bridgestone Tour B XS golf balls. But in the same year, he opted for Tour BX. While the underlying material for both of these balls is the same, the differentiating factor is spin. The Tour B XS is softer and carries more spin, while the Tour B X is made for lower flight and spin.

Now Tiger Woods has switched once again to a newer version of Tour BX. Talking about his latest selection, he said, “I am always seeking more distance off the tee and more control around the green; that’s the Holy Grail, and what Bridgestone’s delivered with the new Tour B X.”

But the process of settling on this new version was a quest in itself. The Bridgestone officials and Woods came together to re-fit the 48-year-old for his balls. The new version of the Tour B X has a softer cover and an additional mid-layer. After running the tests, Woods found the newer version to be the best fit.
