Tiger Woods has aged to the twilight of his illustrious golf career. While we have been treated to the extraordinary talents of the man from Cypress, California, injuries and personal scandals have reduced his output in the last few years. But the recent past has seen Woods tee up with his son, Charlie Woods. At 13, he’s making waves among budding golfers and has already participated in national-level golf tournaments. But has he already surpassed his legendary father in his game? According to Tiger, he has.

Does Charlie Woods out-drive his father Tiger Woods?

While the ‘host’ Tiger isn’t participating in the ongoing Hero World Challenge, he’s still around the grounds. He participated in the Hero Shot before the primary tournament began, while also giving out a press conference.

For a celebrity such as Woods, cameras are never too far away. Behind the wheels in one of the carts, he was asked whether his son Charlie could out-drive him off the tee. His answer surprised everybody.

“It’s already happening,” he said.

Is a 12-year-old Charlie already outclassing the joint-highest PGA Tour events winner? Under all circumstances, father Woods might have lost out against his son occasionally. But with the years waning by, expect more of those surprises.

Is Charlie Woods already a great golfer?

The golf circuits have got a taste of Charlie Woods’s talents in junior tournaments. With his every move tracked, Woods Jr. has gone about doing his business admirably.

He played with his father at the PNC Championship last year, finishing second. He is due for another participation at the tournament this year, which is expected to mark Tiger Woods’ comeback since the Open Championship in July.

Charlie Woods also played a part in the Notah Begay III Boys Jr Golf National Championship, held in Koasati Pines at Coushatta last month. He participated in the Boys 12-13 age category, finishing in eleventh place with a score of one-under par.
