Tiger Woods on Jack Nicklaus: ‘What He’s Done for the Game of Golf in 80 Years Is Incredible, and It’s Not Only What He Accomplished…’

Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods are probably the greatest golfers of all time. Jack has won 73 PGA Tour events and 18 major championships, while Tiger has 82 PGA Tour wins and 15 major championships. Both these players have dominated this game in their particular era and revolutionized golf as a sport. 

Jack Nicklaus, who is also well-known as the Golden Bear, has won the most major championships in the history of this game. On the other hand, Tiger is T1 for the most PGA Tour wins along with Sam Snead. Moreover, both these golfers share a close bond, and Woods has always looked up to Jack as a mentor.

Earlier in 2020, Jack Nicklaus celebrated his 80th birthday. Hence, a few prominent golfers shared a few words about Jack, including Tiger Woods“Jack’s said a lot of things to me over the years — a lot of ’em I can’t tell you. But 80 years? Wow.” Woods said.

“He’s given me advice here and there, and when we talk, it’s often about life in general. He always wants to know: How’s everything going? How you playing? How you swinging? What are you working on?” Furthermore, Tiger lauded the contribution of Jack towards this game not just as a player but also as a golf course designer.

“What he’s done for the game of golf in 80 years is incredible, and it’s not only what he accomplished as a player. Don’t forget how many golf courses he’s designed around the world — probably near 500. F—in’ crazy.”

Meanwhile, even Jack Nicklaus shares a similar respect for Tiger and rates him as the best golfer. Moreover, even he believes Tiger is a blessing for the game of golf as he was the pioneer of all the success that this sport is receiving worldwide. Hence, both these players regard each other as great and share mutual respect.
