The 2007 US Open began on June 14th at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania. Tiger wanted to do nothing more than be with his wife then, but she was against it. He said, “It was not easy, because I wanted to be there.” But Elin and her doctor said to him, “There’s nothing you can do. So go out there and just get a ‘W.’” Woods flew back to Orlando the minute the tournament ended and headed straight to the hospital to see how his wife was doing.

“That night was infinitely more rewarding than any ‘W’ ever could have been,” he said. In the early hours of Monday morning, on the 18th of June, Tiger held his daughter for the first time. He knew right then that no one could ever hold a candle to that feeling. “Next thing you know, we have Sam Alexis in our arms,” he said, beaming with joy.

Just by looking at his game, one could tell he was slightly distracted. He even started his first hole of the first round with a bogey.
