Being a celebrated personality in the sports world is hard, and being Tiger Woods is a testament to that. Being in a position of a legendary player requires one to be perfect physically and mentally. Woods’ case was no different. During an interview, the former No.1 revealed how hard it was for him to overcome a rough phase in his life that ended up impacting his career as well as his personal and emotional well being. Woods was in a bleak state and struggled to get back on his foot owing to a series of injuries. The condition got so volatile that he couldn’t even bend to pick up the ball. Due to all these struggles, he once had to make a tough mental decision which put people under the impression that maybe it was time for the pro golfer to retire from golf.
Tiger Woods and his fortitude in the face of adversity
After his third microdiscectomy in 2015, Woods lost the path to his life. The G.O.A.T. did not know when he’ll be back on the course or if he would ever be back.
His surgeon and physio could not come up with the timeline for Woods’ return. At a press conference at the Albany Golf Club in the Bahamas, he lamented and said he had to reset the clock every day and try to accept every new day the way it was. All he was doing was taking baby steps every day and hoping the baby steps would eventually turn into a marathon.

Woods added more and talked about the mental change he had to make to be hopeful. Woods said that he could not tell when he’d be back as everything was so uncertain back then. And that mindset was the most challenging adjustment he had to make. The former no.1 said, “There is no timetable for this and that’s been the hardest mindset adjustment is that I don’t know.”
