Tiger Woods married the Swedish model in 2004. The couple share two children together. They divorced in 2010 following several allegations against Woods.

Woods showered Nordegren with gifts while the couple were married. One of them was as costly as $3 million.

The lavish Valentines gift

During the time that he gifted the boat, Tiger Woods’ cheating allegations were already out in public. Woods took the opportunity to redeem himself by trying to repair the relationship with his then estranged wife.

The gifted sport boat was a 61-foot boat, custom-designed for Elin Nordegren that Woods had christened Solitude. Both Woods and Nordegren used to scuba dive very frequently.

A gift related to their habit was quite a romantic gesture coming from the 15-time Major Champion. It was reported that the the boat was expected to be a symbol of a new beginning in their broken marriage.

However, a year later Nordegren filed for divorce. She reportedly walked away with $76 million as alimony in the divorce settlement.

How Tiger Woods met his ex-wife?

Despite its horror ending, the initial stages of their marriage were quite beautiful. The pair were introduced to each other by Mia Parnevik, wife of Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik, who hired Ms Nordegren as the nanny to their children.

Apparently, Woods asked Parnevik to introduce him for a year—but Nordegren wasn’t that impressed at first. Tiger Woods was ok with this fact since Nordegren was dating someone else at the time.

Woods was not the only one who went gaga over Nordegren. Seemingly there was a line of golfers who were shooting their shot with the Swedish model. Tiger Woods was so nervous that he sent someone else to ask her out on his behalf.

Nordegren turned down Woods several times before finally agreeing to go on a date. She liked Tiger Woods right after their first date. They began dating in 2002, and by late 2003 they were engaged; Woods proposed during a sunset walk at the Shamwari Game Reserve in South Africa.

After the couple broke up, Mr Parnevik was quoted as having said: “I’m kind of filled with sorrow for Elin since me and my wife are at fault for hooking her up with him, and we probably thought he was a better guy than he is.” It’s sad to see such a romantic story have an awful conclusion to it.
