Tiger Woods is a living legend and is known for his breathtaking skills on the field. The golfer has created a legacy surpassing more than two decades, and made records all over the world. When it comes to his skills, Woods gives all the credit to his father, Earl Woods. And while he is trying to be the best coach for his son, Charlie, he once talked about how his father’s skills are helping him improve his son’s game.

Tiger Woods revealed using his father’s methods to teach his son
After his divorce from ex-wife Elin Nordegren, Woods has been trying to spend as much time as possible with his kids Charlie and Sam. And one of their favorite ways of spending time together was playing a round of golf. Thanks to Charlie’s similar interests, Woods finds the perfect student in him, and Charlie in return wants to be just like his father.

During the Memorial Tournament, Woods revealed how he used his father’s tricks to help his son maintain interest in the sport. Woods said that his father, Earl Woods, used to follow a method during the golfer’s early years of learning the sport, that kept him interested and focused.

And copying the same method, Woods created his own par for Charlie according to the number of shots he required to make it to the green. He then added two shots to make it par. And as Charlie grew, Woods kept dropping the par.
“Forget the number,” Woods said. “It’s about them enjoying the attention that it takes to try to get to par. What my dad was genius [at it] because it kept me focused, it kept me interested.” Woods also revealed that his son has a wonderful swing and that the golf star is trying to learn from him. “He’s got some parts in his swing that I’m trying to do,” Woods laughed and said.

How is Woods’ relationship with his son?
Tiger Woods has been trying to be the best father for both his kids. Setting his differences with Nordegren aside, Woods has been giving it all to maintain a healthy relationship with his children and to make sure their lives are as stable and as normal as possible.

He once talked about how his injuries allowed him to stay with his kids at home and just watch them grow up. Nordegren, who has now moved on with her life after the divorce, said that she was now friends with Woods. She also said that Tiger Woods is a great father to his kids and loves spending time with them.
