It has been injury after injury for the legendary Tiger Woods since late 2024. Amidst all this, some good news has resurfaced as Woods overcame yet another health issue to be back on the course. This time, however, he was not out to play golf but to support his son, Charlie Woods, at his High School State Championship match.

Tiger Woods’ appearance follows a long list of surgeries and procedures. First, it was the back surgery in September 2024 to reduce back spasms and pain. As he recovered and played a few matches in TGL, he ruptured his Achilles tendon and underwent surgery for that in March 2025. Some good news came before the Nexus Cup 2025, as he was swinging at the Liberty National Golf Club. A few days later, news about his 7th back surgery came out in October 2025.
“After experiencing pain and lack of mobility in my back, I consulted with Doctor and Surgeons to have tests taken. The scans determined that I had a collapsed disk in L4/5, disc fragments and a compromised spinal canal. I opted to have my disc replaced yesterday, and I already know I made a good decision for my health and my back,” Woods wrote in an X post.
Following back surgery, fans and golf analysts expected Woods to stay off the course for several months. But it looks like Woods is making good progress with his health. He was out there to support his son at an event he had lost the previous year. Charlie Woods’ Benjamin School was the defending champion at the Florida High School State Championship 2024. They won in 2023, when Woods carded rounds of 78-76 to finish T26 individually.

However, Charlie Woods and his team were not able to defend the title in 2024. The team was through its Class 1A Region 4 tournament. It ended T9 on the opening day and had a solid platform to build upon. And Charlie Woods performed considerably better the next day, but they still didn’t make it. Woods hit two birdies on the front nine and three more on the back nine. He finished second among his teammates and 32nd individually in the tournament.
Tiger Woods has been watching every State Championship match of Charlie Woods. He was there in 2023 and in 2024 as well. And he was back there despite the health challenges.

Now that he is back on the course, although just to watch, it fuels the debate of his comeback. However, reports say that Woods is already planning his comeback, and it could be sooner rather than later.

When can Tiger Woods make a comeback?
Tiger Woods has hinted at an imminent PGA Tour comeback after his seventh lower back surgery. Because of the surgery, he may be out of contention at least till February 2026. This will be a year and a half since he last competed in a professional golf tournament. While there is no specific date or event Woods aims to play, updates state that he is planning to put a new golf ball to play in 2026.

The 82x PGA Tour winner was recently shooting a Bridgestone Golf promotion video. TWLEGION revealed that Woods is already practicing his swing and has seen an increase in ball speed using the new Bridgestone VS Proto ball. He plans to use the same in competition in 202, according to MyGolfSpy.
Tiger Woods has always looked to get back on the course as quickly as possible. In 2025, he left a cryptic message on Instagram saying, “I’ve always had the belief that I can execute anything in competition because I’ve done it. I’ve done countless reps in practice. That drives my confidence.” This was only a few days after he was seen swinging at the Liberty National Golf Club during the Nexus Cup.
However, his plans were put on hold because of the 7th back surgery. But as he recovers again, fans could watch him play once again. However, the only thing that may confuse them is where they will watch Woods play, whether it will be in TGL Season 2, the PGA Tour, or the PGA Tour Champions.
