Tiger Woods will be making his official comeback on the PGA Tour. He will play the Genesis Invitational after withdrawing from the Masters last April. Since then, Woods has gone through plantar fasciitis surgery and returned unofficially to the Hero World Challenge and the PNC Championship. However, his return in late 2023 somewhat hinted at 100% recovery, but that was not the case.

The 82-time PGAT champion complained in December that some parts of his body still ached. Adhering to his promise of competing in one event every month, he is going to tee it off this coming weekend! However, as per the latest tweet shared by Daniel Rapaport on X, the golfer does not appear to be healed 100 percent, despite Woods claiming “pain is completely gone.”

The golfer was seen walking out of his hotel while wearing his new clothing line, Sun Day Red, as revealed earlier. The right leg of the woods was covered with black compression wraps, hinting at slight discomfort. It seems that Woods still has a bit of a struggle with his right knee, and the opted-for compression sleeve provides him with the comfort and warmth he needs while walking.

The 82-time PGA Tour winner can finally walk without any struggle and can also fold his knee completely, and sit on the greens as well to hit the shot. However, his injured leg would always feel a little pressure now and then, and to overcome the issue of hurting his leg further, Woods opted for another covering last year that he may choose again.

Tiger Woods may wear braces at the Genesis Invitational

After experiencing a near-fatal accident in 2021, most of Woods’ right leg was severely damaged. Henceforth, the right ankle could not support the full body weight. To not further pull on the injury and cause extra stress, Woods was seen wearing a leg brace at the Hero World Challenge.

The leg braces are different from compression wraps as they are recognized as medical devices. The braces can support and keep the fractured or broken ligaments in place by assisting and restricting movement. As golf requires full body movement and much of it goes on the ankle, the Jupiter resident will need a brace to not aggravate his surgery and play as normally as he can.

At the Genesis Invitational, Woods might be seen wearing the leg braces again, as it has only been two months since he started playing golf again competitively, and he needs all the support to not fall down the injury hole again. Last year, he finished T45 at Riviera. For this edition, though the chances are bleak, Woods will be playing his best and may as well win the invitational that he never could!
