Angie Martinez is many things. The “Voice of New York”, a very famous radio personality, is also a podcaster, singer, rapper and actress. Despite being a woman of many talents, Martinez has found herself in the odd pickle at times. She laid bare an incident involving the niece of famous golfer, Tiger Woods.

In the Par-Tee podcast, with Tisha Alyn, Martinez revealed a fun chance encounter she had with Cheyenne Woods, Tiger Woods’s niece that left her embarrassed. At an event at a mutual friend’s place, Martinez started talking to Woods, but failed to recognize who she was. “She was there and I didn’t know who she was.” The Grammy nominee recalled.

Martinez, who is in a ‘golf girl’ era right now, has started recruiting hip-hop greats  to join her on course to participate in celebrity golfing events. So, she was feeling good about the sport and her game in general and started talking to Woods as if she was a stranger to the sport. “The conversation of golf comes up by the bar and now I’m putting on a show like I’m the golfer here.” Martinez explained.

When Cheyenne admitted that she does play golf, Martinez started advising her on how to keep improving and the need to stay consistent. Oh! What a situation to be part of! “‘Oh good! You just gotta stay at it and if you ever want to come golf with me, I have been only golfing for a year and a half’. I was like giving her tips.” The rapper recalled sheepishly. She was later told that she was talking to Cheyenne Woods, niece of the great Tiger Woods and LPGA golfer herself.

Tisha Alyn made the ultimate plea to Woods, stating, “Cheyenne, if you remember this moment, Angie’s sorry.” But Cheyenne does not seem to have let go of the situation.

Cheyyene Woods was not letting it be though. She posted Tisha Alyn’s Intagram post with Angie Martinez as her story. She then added her note, stating, “We are due for a round!! @angiemartinez.” It will be fun to see Martinez take on Woods in a round of golf. But Cheyenne is not your regular golfer, Angie Martinez.

Cheyenne Woods’s Professional Career

The half-niece of Tiger Woods lived up to her name to a large extent. She made 117 starts on the LPGA Tour, which includes 16 major championship starts. She’s had two top 10 finishes in her career, a T6 finish at the Cambia Portland Classic in 2016 and a T8 finish at the 2017 New Zealand Women’s Open.

Cheyenne Woods was also a regular performer on the Ladies European Tour. She has clinched one title in the LET, winning the Volvik RACK Ladies Masters in Australia, by a two-stroke advantage over then-amateur Minjee Lee. Woods had carded a 16 under par score across the four days of the event.
