Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL had a brutal fate! The league that was supposed to be launched in January 2024 got pushed to January 2025. Why? Well, because the roof of venue got damaged. Everyone remembers it! One could even say that everyone who was associated with the project might have felt a bit overwhelmed or even embarrassed. However, the venue discussion has again come into the spotlight.
According to a college report, the earlier cost of the TGL venue project was $11 million, but now it has increased to $50 million. The reason? Some new additions and inclusions have been made to the venue, to be safer! Afterall, its better to be safe than sorry!

Billy Horschel claimed that it was the rain that led to the inflated dome of the SoFi center. He mentioned that if the temporary power goes out, the roof deflates. The extra cost that is now being put in the venue construction might offer a better solution for holding up the venue’s roof, and help in not repeating what went down a couple of months ago.
As much as rain, even the heavy winds could have a substantial impact on the TGL’s arena, and Palm Beach being a windy area, an extra step of precaution is bound to be taken. The big names associated with TGL would not want to face another hiccup, that might again impact the league’s reputation.

“Those figures don’t include $30 million worth of technology that will be added to create the indoor golf course,” a TMRW spokesman said while speaking about the additional and advanced technology that will now be used to make the TGL house a better version and avoid such acts to nature. As explained by McCarley, a former NBC Sports executive and founder of TMRW with Woods and McIlroy, the building is going to be more expensive, and better!
The price of almost $30–$31 million has been raised due to several improvements and new additions to the structure and technology. But what if these modifications don’t work? Will this project afford to fall once again? Only time will tell! But meanwhile, what does the new proposed structure of the venue look like?

As per the new proposal to rebuild the building, it was presented that the building would reach a height of 74 feet, 10 inches. The pre-engineered building shell would be fabricated by Allied Steel Buildings and transported to the site in panels. However, it would cover the same footprint as was already laid out for the dome, allowing for a 135,000-square-foot building.

The ideal timeline for the site to get done is by August 2024. Some people were doubtful about how the metal building would stand to last 50 years with Category 5 hurricanes. Moreover, the arena has seating for 1500 fans and would also be built as a TV studio. The accommodation capacity at the backstage is updated to 1000 people from 500 as well.
