Tiger Woods and Tom Watson respect each other. However, Watson once had a bone to pick with Woods. Tom Watson once said a few words about the 82-time PGA Tour winner, which he would not like to hear. But what did he say?

Tom Watson once spoke about Eldrick Woods‘ rather unprofessional mannerism on the golf course. Watson is of the thought that golf is a gentleman’s game and professionals should act according to it. Moreover, Watson criticized Woods for his language and throwing clubs on the golf course.

Tom spoke about Woods cussing and club throwing in an interview back in 2010 at the Dubai Desert Classic. He also criticized Tiger for the way he manages himself on the golf course. He spoke about Tiger after being asked about the situation Woods faced back in 2010.

Watson said, “I feel that he has not carried the same stature that other great players that have come along like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Byron Nelson, the Hogans, in the sense that there was language and club throwing on the golf course.

He added “Show the respect for the game that other people before him have shown. When he comes back he has to show some humility to the public.” These are some bold words that were said by the golf legend.

Tiger Woods’ first major win

Woods won his first major championship in 1997, one year after turning professional in 1996. He picked up his first major championship title at the 1997 Masters at Augusta National. Moreover, he won his maiden green jacket with an impeccable overall score of 18-under-par. Tiger won the 1997 Masters Tournament with a whopping 12 stroke victory on Sunday at Augusta. His victory by 12 strokes is the highest margin of victory at Augusta. Moreover, Tiger carded a final round of three-under-par, 69.

Woods’ final round of three-under-par featured two birdies and two bogeys on the opening nine holes. And as a result, Tiger moved out in level par, 36. He made three birdies and all pars on the back nine to card a bogey-free back nine on route to a famous victory at Augusta on Sunday.
