Tony and Xander Schauffele talks about PGA Tour’s conditions

The 2022 PGA Tour season is set to host its fifth event of the season and probably one of the most anticipated ones. However, the event this year has a low count of professionals playing in the field.

The reason for the decline in the number of professionals this week is due to Saudi International. 21 of the top 50 in the World Golf Rankings are going to be a part of the event, which is sanctioned by the Asian Tour.

PGA Tour allowed its players to compete at the event but with the condition that the ones competing at the Saudi International will have to play at Pebble Beach twice in the next three years.

Xander Schaufele is a part of the field at the Saudi Internation which starts on 3rd February. Xander spoke about the requirement that PGA Tour has set. He said, “It’s sort of one that’s still being ironed out,”. “I’ve had my reservations about playing at AT&T, so it’s definitely a tricky one to handle that situation. So, we’re still navigating that with my team and we’ll kind of see what happens.”

Tony Finau, another professional, also spoke about the event. He said, “I’ll be back at Pebble in the next couple years and looking forward to it,”. “Pebble’s a special place, a golf course that I think we all love. Great champions come off Pebble; it’s a place where you want to win.”

Prize money at Saudi International

The event in Saudi Arabia starts on February 3rd and the total prize money for the event is $5 million with the winner taking $900,000.
