The 67-year-old former professional golfer Greg Norman was in an interview with the Australian Golf Digest. He revealed that he is still getting calls from agents for the world’s top 40 golfers. He claimed that they were continuously showing interest in joining the LIV Tour.

He said, “The rumors are true [that LIV Golf will transition into a proper league in 2023]—we’ve closed up shop, as far as our players are concerned.” He also said that the LIV Golf Series will be converted into a proper golf tournament format from 2023 onwards. “It’s interesting, we’re still getting calls from agents of top-40 players in the world wanting to join LIV but it’s too late now,” he added.

R&A Chief Breaks Silence on Why Greg Norman Wasn’t Invited to the 150th Open: ‘Protect the Integrity’

R&A recently announced that it did not invite Greg Norman to the Celebration of Champions as well as the Champions Dinner. The officials said, “We can confirm that we contacted Greg Norman to advise him that we decided not to invite him to attend on this occasion.” The decision was made in order to avoid any diversion from the celebration and to ensure that all the focus stays on the motive of the event.

In his response, Norman said, “I’m disappointed.” I would have thought the R&A would have stayed above it all given their position in world golf. “ Norman has brought in many PGA Tour players to join his Saudi-backed league, and as a result, he has received a lot of controversy for the same.
