Top 5 players who were snubbed from Team U.S.
Kevin Na – Kevin Na wasn’t in contention for most of the year. However, his recent hot streak in the FedExCup playoffs had got a few eyeballs towards him. Na had four top-eight finishes in six starts, and he carded the low 72-hole score at the Tour Championship. But his poor record off the tee and driving distance likely didn’t help his cause.
Patrick Reed – Patrick Reed has been with the team USA since making his first appearance in 2014. However, this experience was not enough to get a place in the Ryder Cup. Moreover, his recent form has not been the best either, as Reed hasn’t registered a top-10 finish since early June. Furthermore, his scary bout with double pneumonia just weeks ago probably didn’t help his cause either.

Webb Simpson – Webb Simpson was 13th in the Ryder Cup standings. However, he didn’t make it to the Tour Championship this time. But he has had six top 10s and 13 top 25s in 21 starts last season. Very few players were as consistent as the Simpson, but in a year when team U.S. went young, there wasn’t a spot for Simpson.
Sam Burns – Sam Burns had a breakout season in 2021, earning his first Tour victory and notching eight top 1-s in 26 starts. However, sadly, his Ryder Cup candidacy never got a buzz, and he was left out of the team.

Kevin Kisner – Kevin Kisner has proven himself in match play competitions during his career. However, his form in 2021 never gave him the candidacy for the Ryder Cup. He did earn a win just a few weeks ago at Wyndham Championship, but his ball-striking deficiencies over last year or so hurt his chances.
